Chic and Simple: DIY Wall Arch with Self-Adhesive Rubber and Wallpaper

Who says rentals can't be stylish? With this budget-friendly DIY, you can mimic crown molding using peel and stick wallpaper and self-adhesive rubber strips. This easy hack turns plain walls into statement pieces without nails or paint. Discover how to create elegant, temporary wall arch decor in just a few steps.

Here's how you created your wall arch using self-adhesive White Silicone Foamed Strip Square Rubber Sponge and peel and stick wallpaper :

  1. Gather Materials:

    • Self-adhesive White Silicone Foamed Strip Square Rubber Sponge
    • Peel and stick wallpaper with your choice of patterns
    • Scissors or a utility knife
    • Measuring tape or ruler
    • Pencil
    • Level (optional, for precise alignment)
  2. Measure and Cut the Wallpaper:

    • Measure the area on the wall where you want to apply the wallpaper.
    • Cut the peel and stick wallpaper to fit the measured area. For this project, two different patterns were used – a black and white geometric maze pattern for the top section and a pink crane design for the bottom section.
  3. Prepare the Wall:

    • Clean the wall surface to ensure it is smooth and free of dust or debris. This helps the wallpaper adhere better.
  4. Apply the Wallpaper:

    • Peel the backing off the wallpaper and carefully apply it to the wall, starting from the top and smoothing it down to avoid air bubbles. Use a squeegee or a straight edge to smooth out any bubbles or wrinkles.
    • Align the second piece of wallpaper below the first one, ensuring that the edges meet neatly.
  5. Frame the Wallpaper:

    • Measure and cut the self-adhesive White Silicone Foamed Strip Square Rubber Sponge to create a frame around the wallpaper sections. Make sure the strips are cut precisely to fit around the edges of the wallpaper.
    • Peel the backing off the self-adhesive rubber strips and press them firmly around the edges of the wallpaper, framing each section neatly.
    • Ensure that the strips are aligned properly for a clean look.
  6. Finishing Touches:

    • Check that all edges are neatly aligned and that the frames are securely attached. Adjust if necessary.
    • Step back and admire your DIY wall arch!

Using self-adhesive materials for both the wallpaper and the framing strips makes this an easy, mess-free, renter friendly DIY project that adds a unique and stylish touch to your space. Watch full video via our youtube channel click here
